TERMS & CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE BETWEEN M G I & CARRIER

Warehousing

We provide standard warehousing as well as full range of added-value services including inventory and warehouse management, just-in-time delivery, partial assembly, picking and packing, refilling and repackaging, sorting and labeling.

All items unloaded from the dock are palletized and put aside for inspection by the appropriate authorities. Items and quantities need to match documentation for Customs Duty inspectors and SABS inspectors need to take samples of any edible or medical goods.

Items that are to be delivered somewhere within a short distance of the dock are cross hauled, and the empty containers are
immediately turned in to the container yards.

Where goods need to be transported further inland, or into
neighboring countries, they are first brought to the MGI Warehouse for repackaging.

Warehousing Equipment and Facilities

Our warehouse is fully equipped with standard industry equipment operated by well trained staff.

Racking
Our warehouse handles both block stacked (very short term) and longer term storage for clients. We have the capacity to handle over 60 containers worth of goods through the warehouse alone. Storage is available for short term rental from the warehouse.

Warehouse Security

Security is obviously of paramount importance so we have installed a multi-site, networked camera monitoring system. We are also linked to a security company.

Additional security measures ensure that each item leaving the warehouse has been checked 3 times. And we have retained a loyal and long term staff compliment with low turnover which highlights our commitment to security and satisfaction.

All stock is electronically monitored via bar codes and scans.
Receiving – efficiently unload shipments from arrival at port and transfer to the warehouse
Storing – quickly and accurately move and relocate goods
Inventory picking and packing – correctly and effectively prepare customer orders
Shipping – transport goods to their appropriate destinations through our trucking division
Stock is monitored the entire time until it leaves the warehouse, via our own
security camera system.
Warehouse Accreditation Warehouse Safety
MGI’s warehouse facilities are accredited with the Department of Agriculture, with the Ethekwini Municipality as a Good Grade Warehouse, and also with the SABS Department of standards.

Any warehouse runs the risk of accidents and injury. Our insurance against this is to maintain a well run warehouse and particularly to have experienced and well trained staff. Being aware of potential problems and dangers means that we can prepare to avoid them.

Our machinery and equipment is of the best quality and well maintained, to ensure the elimination of accidents caused by ware and tear.

Warehouse Equipment

Racking

MGI’s warehouse racking has the capacity to store both long term stock as well as short term or block stacking. We can also provide additional overflow warehousing space for clients who’s own warehouses are temporarily at capacity.

Dock Levelers

A dock leveler, either hydraulic or mechanical, is the device to bridge the gap between the trailer and the dock.

Pallet or Lift Trucks

Pallet trucks lift, move, stack and move the loads and pallets between trucks and the warehousing racking.
